Le due settimane della Milano Design City, a cavallo tra settembre e ottobre, hanno rappresentato uno slancio creativo in un quadro storico particolarmente buio, capace di frenare anche i fermenti creativi. Le varie presentazioni in giro per la città, di impronta quasi totalmente aziendal-nazionale, non sono state prese d’assalto e hanno escluso ogni forma di progettualità alternativa. Eppure hanno ribadito la capacità di resilienza tipica del capoluogo lombardo, che vuole riaffermare la propria centralità mondiale nel design e nella moda.
Emblematica in tal senso è stata l’installazione di Lapalma nella piazzetta Gorani, di recente costruzione. Le architetture bianche del sito hanno fatto da sfondo a un agglomerato di coloratissimi pouf Kipu, disegnati da Anderssen & Voll, come allegri ciottoli su un fiume, vestiti di cromie rosa, bordeaux e grigie.
The two weeks of the Milano Design City, between September and October, represented a creative impulse in a particularly dark historical context, capable of curbing even the creative ferments. The various presentations around the city, almost entirely corporate-national, were not crowded and excluded any form of alternative planning. Yet they reaffirmed the resilience typical of the Lombard capital, which wants to reaffirm its global centrality in design and fashion.
Emblematic in this sense was the installation by Lapalma in the recently built Gorani square. The white architecture of the site was the backdrop to a cluster of colorful Kipu poufs, designed by Anderssen & Voll, like cheerful pebbles on a river, dressed in pink, burgundy and gray shades.
