La storia del design della sedia è sicuramente la più affollata rispetto alle altre tipologie di arredo. Qui vogliamo focalizzarci brevemente (e con un po’ di entusiasmo) sui modelli di sedute concepite e realizzate con pezzi di legno laccato incastrati fra loro. Proposte che hanno fatto epoca, sicuramente ispirati dalla poltrona di Rietveld (che però non prevede innesti, ma solo contatto delle tavole).

Niente colla né viti. Curiosamente, la tecnica costruttiva viene sempre sottolineata esaltata dal cambiamento cromatico tra un pezzo e l’altro. Tra intelligenza creativa e senso giocoso, vogliamo ricordare (nell’ordine) la Vilbert di Verner Panton per Ikea (1992, oggi quotatissima nei circuiti del vintage); la Bauchair Romano e Maria Seletti (1964); la Dry, disegnata da Massimo Morozzi per Giorgetti nel 1987 (in versione sedia e poltroncina); e infine la Okazaki, del maestro giapponese Shigeru Uchida (1995).

Famous joints – The history of chair design is certainly the most crowded compared to other types of furniture. Here we want to focus briefly (and with a little enthusiasm) on the seating models conceived and made with pieces of lacquered wood interlocked. Proposals that have made an era, certainly inspired by the Rietveld armchair (which however does not include grafts, but only contact with the tables).

No glue or screws. Curiously, the construction technique is always emphasized and enhanced by the chromatic change between one piece and another. Between creative intelligence and a playful sense, we want to recall (in order) Verner Panton’s Vilbert for Ikea (1992, now highly rated in the vintage circuits); the Bauchair Romano and Maria Seletti (1964); the Dry, designed by Massimo Morozzi for Giorgetti in 1987 (in chair and armchair versions); and finally the Okazaki, by the Japanese master Shigeru Uchida (1995).
