La recente fashion week milanese ha visto la collaborazione tra un brand del lusso e un gigante del design italiano.
Bottega Veneta ha affidato a Gaetano Pesce l’allestimento della sala in cui ha sfilato la collezione primavera 2023. Il designer ha creato una vera a propria installazione site-specific con la materia che da decenni contraddistingue il suo lavoro a cavallo tra arte e progetto: la resina.
Sul pavimento ha fatto colare i polimeri in versione fluida in modo da creare enormi chiazze di diversi colori, ritoccate con dettagli pittorici. Lo stesso procedimento è stato applicato alle decine di sedie destinate agli spettatori, ognuna diversa dall’altra per tinta e conformazione delle macchie.
A sala vuota l’occhio percepisce il caleidoscopio cromatico, in gioco che riassume la ricerca espressiva e materica di Gaetano Pesce, in un conflitto tra allestimento provvisorio e durevolezza.
Resin on the catwalk – The recent Milan fashion week saw the collaboration between a luxury brand and an Italian design giant.
Bottega Veneta has entrusted Gaetano Pesce with the set up of the room in which he showed the spring 2023 collection. The designer has created a real site-specific installation with the material that has distinguished his work for decades between art and design: the resin.
On the floor he poured the polymers in a fluid version to create huge patches of different colors, retouched with pictorial details. The same procedure was applied to the dozens of chairs intended for spectators, each different from the other in color and shape of the spots.
When the room is empty, the eye perceives the chromatic kaleidoscope, at play that summarizes the expressive and material research of Gaetano Pesce, in a conflict between provisional setting and durability.
