Progettare una sedia, si sa, è la sfida più ardua per un designer. Eppure resta il tema più gettonato, nonostante la miriade di proposte che si sono susseguite nel corso dei secoli e soprattutto con l’avvento dell’industrializzazione.

Nonostante ciò, il modello disegnato da Harry Thaler per Nils Holger Moormann rappresenta una delle idee più brillanti del nuovo millennio. Pressed Chair è ottenuta attraverso lo stampaggio a freddo di una lastra di alluminio spessa 2,5 mm, che permette di creare sia la sagoma che le nervature di rinforzo.

Nasce così un manufatto dalle forme un po’ robotiche, eleganti e soprattutto contemporanee.

Il catalogo colori, in uso in fase di smaltatura, è davvero strepitoso. Le tinte luminose e brillanti possono essere godute proprio attraverso la nostra gallery.

An intelligent chair – Designing a chair is known to be the most difficult challenge for a designer. Yet it remains the most popular theme, despite the myriad of proposals that have followed one another over the centuries and especially with the advent of industrialization.

Despite this, the model designed by Harry Thaler for Nils Holger Moormann represents one of the brightest ideas of the new millennium. Pressed Chair is obtained through the cold forging of a 2.5 mm thick aluminum plate, which allows to create both the shape and the reinforcing ribs.

Thus was born a product with somewhat robotic, elegant and above all contemporary shapes.
