Questo non è, insolitamente, un focus su un manufatto, ma un’incursione su una tendenza cromatica assai presente, nella fase attuale, nel mondo del progetto.

Parliamo della diffusione – a tutte le scale d’intervento, dalle facciate degli edifici fino alla decorazione della casa – del color terracotta. Ovviamente parliamo di una finitura che non coincide necessariamente con l’applicazione del materiale originario, ma di una tonalità che crea, a livello visivo, un senso di morbidezza e di calore, oltre a potersi armonizzare con gran parte delle tonalità calde e neutre.

Si tratta di una nuance del rosso con una lieve flessione verso l’arancio. La sua cromaticità è media, con variazioni chiaroscurali. Varia dai toni biscottati, rosati, fino alle versioni più bruno-rossastre.

È chiaro che la gamma dei terracotta è infinita ma, se dovessimo ricondurla a una semplice notazione NCS, potremmo scrivere a livello indicativo NCS S 2060 – Y70R.

Terracotta trend – This is not, unusually, a focus on an artifact, but an incursion into a chromatic trend that is very present, in the current phase, in the world of design.

We are talking about the diffusion – at all scales of intervention, from the facades of buildings to the decoration of the house – of the terracotta colour. Obviously we are talking about a finish that does not necessarely coincides with the application of the original material, but of a shade that creates, on a visual level, a sense of softness and warmth, as well as being able to harmonize with most of the warm and neutral shades.

It is a nuance of red with a slight dip towards orange. Its chromaticity is medium, with chiaroscuro variations. It varies from biscuity, rosy tones to more reddish-brown versions.

It is clear that the range of terracottas is infinite but, if we had to reduce it to a simple NCS notation, we could write NCS S 2060 – Y70R indicatively.
