LIGHTING | NORTSTUDIO

Nortstudio, con sede ad Anversa, è un marchio di arredi autoprodotti. Le forme sono rigorose e stereometriche, di matrice euclidea, e caratterizzate da una vastissima gamma di colori squillanti.
Dopo tavolini e panche, arriva Fold, la serie degli “oggetti luminosi”. La definizione è dei progettisti… ed effettivamente sarebbe troppo semplicistico chiamarli “lampade”. Le loro geometrie sono assolutamente coerenti con quelle delle altre collezioni, così come il ventaglio cromatico. Sono realizzati i lamiera metallica laccata e piegata a mo’ di libro, in modo da nascondere la sorgente tubolare che sta all’interno.
La luce esce dal perimetro, adombrando le superfici esterne. Però il massimo dell’espressività si ottiene a lampade spente, quando questi “oggetti” raggiungono una valenza scultorea grazie ai colori vivi.

More color than light – Nortstudio, based in Antwerp, is a self-produced furniture brand. The shapes are rigorous and stereometric, of Euclidean origin, and characterized by a vast range of bright colours.
After tables and benches, comes Fold, the series of “luminous objects”. The definition belongs to the designers… and it would actually be too simplistic to call them “lamps”. Their geometries are absolutely consistent with those of the other collections, as is the chromatic range. They are made of lacquered metal sheet folded like a book, so as to hide the tubular source inside.
The light comes out from the perimeter, overshadowing the external surfaces. However, the maximum expressiveness is achieved with the lamps turned off, when these “objects” achieve a sculptural value thanks to the bright colours.
