In occasione della mostra “Icone, Voices of Design Made in Italy” curata dalla Galleria Rossana Orlandi, Isabella Del Grandi ha progettato Idol, nuovo prodotto iconico per Slalom, una scultura fonoassorbente nata con l’intento di oltrepassare i confini dell’acustica verso nuovi significati simbolici. La reinterpretazione di forme primitive dà vita a totem contemporanei, costituiti da un assemblaggio di geometrie non tradizionali in equilibrio tra loro.
La scultura acustica è il risultato della meticolosa ricerca dell’armonia tra colori e tessuti appartenenti a mondi opposti che, trasferita a scala umana, genera esperienze multisensoriali dinamiche e indeterminate. Ogni volume attiva un senso diverso, ogni geometria acquista un significato inaspettato; e così, attraverso la vista, il tatto e l’udito, si costruisce un idolo personale, un significato esperienziale, una figura immaginaria.
Ogni scultura è rifinita con feltri, velluti e tessuti made in Italy, etici e raffinati, appositamente selezionati per la mostra, così come la suggestiva palette di colori.
The sound of colors – On the occasion of the exhibition “Icons, Voices of Design Made in Italy” curated by the Rossana Orlandi Gallery, Isabella Del Grandi designed Idol, a new iconic product for Slalom, a sound-absorbing sculpture created with the intention of going beyond the boundaries of acoustics towards new symbolic meanings. The reinterpretation of primitive forms gives life to contemporary totems, made up of an assemblage of non-traditional geometries in balance with each other.
Acoustic sculpture is the result of the meticulous search for harmony between colors and fabrics belonging to opposite worlds which, when transferred to a human scale, generates dynamic and indeterminate multisensory experiences. Each volume activates a different sense, each geometry acquires an unexpected meaning; and so, through sight, touch and hearing, a personal idol is built, an experiential meaning, an imaginary figure.
Each sculpture is finished with ethical and refined felts, velvets and fabrics made in Italy, specially selected for the exhibition, as is the evocative color palette.
