Il progetto di Doldam, una residenza privata in affitto situata nel Parco Nazionale del Monte Seorak, in Corea del Sud, si ispira alla conformazione del territorio e mira a catturare l’ambiente naturale in continua trasformazione.

L’edificio, disegnato da One-Aftr, rappresenta una cerniera tra interno ed esterno. Questa volontà si traduce in una compenetrazione tra due superfici: quella lapidea, di colore beige, e quella arancione intenso, che avvolge pareti, alcune porzioni di facciata e arredi su misura.

Nonostante la schematicità cromatica, la configurazione aperta della casa permette di modulare la luce in base a tante variabili, grazie anche alla continuità spaziale che caratterizza l’interno. Ciò accade anche di notte, quando la luce artificiale fuoriesce da una “spaccatura” della facciata.

L’arancione si propone come un elemento di frattura visiva nel paesaggio, anche se il progetto raggiunge una perfetta integrazione con l’ambiente naturale.

Two materials, one cube – The Doldam project, a private residence for rent located in the Mount Seorak National Park, in South Korea, is inspired by the conformation of the territory and aims to capture the ever-changing natural environment.

The building represents a hinge between the inside and the outside. This desire translates into an interpenetration of two surfaces: the beige stone one and the intense orange one, which envelops the walls, some portions of the facade and custom-made furnishings.

Despite the chromatic schematicity, the open configuration of the house allows the light to be modulated according to many variables, thanks also to the spatial continuity that characterizes the interior. This also happens at night, when the artificial light comes out from a “crack” in the facade.

The orange is proposed as an element of visual fracture in the landscape, even if the project achieves perfect integration with the natural environment.
