INTERIOR | BAR FAR

Un nuovo bar è arrivato sulla scena romana, sfumando i confini tra architettura, spazio sociale e scultura. Il Bar Far reinterpreta una galleria tradizionale, che peraltro è la nuova sede di Villa Lontana, trasformandola in un luogo d’incontro visivamente affascinante. Questo interior-installazione, che piacerebbe a Stanley Kubrick o a David Lynch, è l’ultima creazione degli artisti Clementine Keith-Roach e Christopher Page.

Un grigio chiaro, a effetto cemento, avvolge l’intero spazio. Gli autori ibridano le sculture anatomiche in tavoli, panche, pareti e cornici. Piedi, mani e altri elementi sono posati come se fossero stati appena scavati dalla terra. Fondendosi con l’architettura, braccia e gambe conducono gli spettatori verso un portico posteriore, le cui campate sono completate da malinconici dipinti rosso-arancio.

Keit-Roach e Page affermano efficacemente che “l’effetto è un ambiente che è allo stesso tempo chiesa e tomba, profezia e rovina, paradiso e inferno”.

Between surrealism and metaphysics – A new bar has arrived on the Roman scene, blurring the boundaries between architecture, social space, and sculpture. Bar Far reinterprets a traditional gallery—the new home of Villa Lontana—transforming it into a visually captivating meeting place. This interior installation, which Stanley Kubrick and David Lynch would have loved, is the latest creation by artists Clementine Keith-Roach and Christopher Page.

A light gray, with concrete-effect, envelops the entire space. The artists hybridize anatomical sculptures into tables, benches, walls, and frames. Feet, hands, and other elements are posed as if freshly dug from the earth. Blending with the architecture, arms and legs lead viewers toward a rear portico, whose bays are completed with melancholic red-orange paintings.

Keit-Roach and Page effectively state that “the effect is an environment that is at once church and tomb, prophecy and ruin, heaven and hell.”
