Questa splendida villa settecentesca sorge in una posizione privilegiata sulle rive del Lago di Como. Appare discreta, elegante e si armonizza con il paesaggio circostante. Tuttavia, per il restyling dell’interno, lo studio berlinese J.Mayer.H ha privilegiato l’effetto shocking.

Tutte le superfici esistenti, gli arredi fissi e gli oggetti funzionali, frutto di una precedente ristrutturazione, sono stati conservati e unificati da una palette di tinte monocromatiche assai forti, differenziate in base agli ambienti. La finitura lucida mette in risalto le irregolarità e i segni del tempo, rivelando molteplici stratificazioni temporali. Le stanze che si affacciano sul lago sono dipinte con colori chiari per catturare la luce radiosa e riflettere i riflessi dell’acqua sul soffitto. Al contrario, le stanze che si affacciano sul lato opposto al lago sono dipinte con tonalità di blu e marrone più scure, creando rifugi tranquilli e introspettivi anche sotto il sole cocente dell’estate.

A new idea of harmony – This splendid 18th-century villa stands in a prime location on the shores of Lake Como. It appears discreet, elegant, and harmonizes with the surrounding landscape. However, for the interior restyling, Berlin-based studio J.Mayer.H favored a striking effect.

All existing surfaces, fixed furnishings, and functional objects, the result of a previous renovation, were preserved and unified by a palette of bold monochrome colors, differentiated by room. The glossy finish highlights the irregularities and signs of aging, revealing multiple layers of time. The rooms overlooking the lake are painted in light colors to capture the radiant light and reflect the reflections of the water on the ceiling. Conversely, the rooms facing the opposite side of the lake are painted in darker shades of blue and brown, creating tranquil and introspective refuges even under the scorching summer sun.
