FURNITURE | LONGCHAMP

Longchamp, marchio francese di spicco nel mondo della pelletteria di lusso, punta ancora sul verde come colore iconico. Su questa base si è mossa anche la collaborazione con Patrick Jouin per la creazione artigianale di una miniserie di tavolini in vista della Milano Design Week 2026 e destinati successivamente ad alcune boutique del brand.

Il designer francese ha ideato i guéridon Drop, nelle versioni side table e coffee table, realizzati in acciaio tornito e impreziositi da smalti esclusivi colati a mano. I pezzi reinterpretano i codici formali di Longchamp. I piani dei tavoli, composti da strati cromatici simili ad acquerelli, cioè posati in modo casuale e per questo irregolare, presentano così vivaci tocchi ispirati al caratteristico “Light Green” e “Heritage Green” della Maison: i colori non sono esattamente gli stessi, poiché la tecnica di colata dello smalto è artisticamente approssimativa, causando una sottile fusione dei colori.

The aesthetics of splash – Longchamp, a leading French brand in the world of luxury leather goods, continues to focus on green as its iconic color. This is also the foundation of its collaboration with Patrick Jouin, crafting a mini-series of coffee tables for Milan Design Week 2026, which will subsequently be available in some of the brand’s boutiques.

The French designer created the Drop pedestal tables, in side and coffee table versions, crafted from turned steel and embellished with exclusive hand-poured enamels. The pieces reinterpret Longchamp’s formal codes. The tabletops, composed of layers of color similar to watercolors—placed in a random and therefore irregular pattern—feature vibrant touches inspired by the Maison’s signature “Light Green” and “Heritage Green.” The colors are not exactly the same, as the enamel pouring technique is artistically approximate, resulting in a subtle blending of colors.

Questo intervento di ristrutturazione riguarda un appartamento situato nel quartiere Prati, a Roma, distribuito su due livelli. La preesistenza più caratterizzante era, e continua ad essere, il soffitto a voltine di laterizio con travetti metallici a vista.

Il progetto, che valorizza abilmente la spazialità originaria, esalta la scala di collegamento con il soppalco come dispositivo leggero e plastico, dal carattere scultoreo, posizionata strategicamente in corrispondenza del corridoio distributivo e pienamente visibile sin dall’ingresso. La scala, realizzata in una resina dalla brillante tonalità giallo limone, introduce un accento cromatico in netto contrasto con la neutralità dello spazio e ne diventa elemento focale.

Essa dialoga con il bianco delle pareti, di nuova posa, e con la palette cromatica giocata su toni naturali e caldi dei vari materiali: il laterizio del soffitto, il parquet in rovere e le cementine di recupero della cucina.

Perspective point – This renovation project involves a two-level apartment located in the Prati neighborhood of Rome. The most distinctive feature was, and continues to be, the vaulted brick ceiling with exposed metal beams.

The project, which skillfully enhances the original spatiality, highlights the staircase connecting the mezzanine as a light and sculptural element, strategically positioned near the corridor and fully visible from the entrance. The staircase, made of a bright lemon-yellow resin, introduces a chromatic accent that contrasts sharply with the neutrality of the space and becomes its focal point.

It interacts with the newly installed white walls and the color palette, which plays on the natural, warm tones of the various materials: the brick ceiling, the oak parquet, and the recycled cement tiles in the kitchen.

INTERIOR | J.MAYER.H

Questa splendida villa settecentesca sorge in una posizione privilegiata sulle rive del Lago di Como. Appare discreta, elegante e si armonizza con il paesaggio circostante. Tuttavia, per il restyling dell’interno, lo studio berlinese J.Mayer.H ha privilegiato l’effetto shocking.

Tutte le superfici esistenti, gli arredi fissi e gli oggetti funzionali, frutto di una precedente ristrutturazione, sono stati conservati e unificati da una palette di tinte monocromatiche assai forti, differenziate in base agli ambienti. La finitura lucida mette in risalto le irregolarità e i segni del tempo, rivelando molteplici stratificazioni temporali. Le stanze che si affacciano sul lago sono dipinte con colori chiari per catturare la luce radiosa e riflettere i riflessi dell’acqua sul soffitto. Al contrario, le stanze che si affacciano sul lato opposto al lago sono dipinte con tonalità di blu e marrone più scure, creando rifugi tranquilli e introspettivi anche sotto il sole cocente dell’estate.

A new idea of harmony – This splendid 18th-century villa stands in a prime location on the shores of Lake Como. It appears discreet, elegant, and harmonizes with the surrounding landscape. However, for the interior restyling, Berlin-based studio J.Mayer.H favored a striking effect.

All existing surfaces, fixed furnishings, and functional objects, the result of a previous renovation, were preserved and unified by a palette of bold monochrome colors, differentiated by room. The glossy finish highlights the irregularities and signs of aging, revealing multiple layers of time. The rooms overlooking the lake are painted in light colors to capture the radiant light and reflect the reflections of the water on the ceiling. Conversely, the rooms facing the opposite side of the lake are painted in darker shades of blue and brown, creating tranquil and introspective refuges even under the scorching summer sun.

RETAIL | MAX&CO

HD Surface firma il nuovo flagship store MAX&Co. a Roma: un racconto di superfici, luce e identità. In un edificio storico in Via Condotti, prende forma il nuovo flagship store di Max&Co., recentemente riaperto dopo un intervento di restauro e ampliamento che ne ha trasformato profondamente l’identità. Un progetto che intreccia tradizione architettonica e linguaggio contemporaneo attraverso l’applicazione sapiente di nanoresina coprente che veste le superfici della scala interna come un abito su misura.

Il rosso iconico di Max&Co., vibrante e deciso, è il protagonista assoluto: un ambiente monocromatico ad alto impatto visivo, dove pareti, elementi architettonici e dettagli d’arredo sono completamente rivestiti con CoverHD, in assoluta continuità visiva. La finitura opaca e vellutata della resina esalta la materia, intensifica la profondità cromatica e avvolge lo spazio in un’atmosfera immersiva, amplificata dalla presenza di inserti di luce a LED.

Fire fashion – HD Surface designs the new MAX&Co. flagship store in Rome: a tale of surfaces, light, and identity. In a historic building on Via Condotti, the new Max&Co. flagship store takes shape, recently reopened after a renovation and expansion that profoundly transformed its identity. This project intertwines architectural tradition and contemporary language through the expert application of covering nanoresin that dresses the surfaces like a tailored suit.

Max&Co.’s iconic red, vibrant and bold, takes center stage: a visually striking monochromatic space where walls, architectural elements, and furnishing details are completely covered with CoverHD, ensuring absolute visual continuity. The matte, velvety finish of the resin enhances the material, intensifies the chromatic depth, and envelops the space in an immersive atmosphere, amplified by the presence of LED light inserts.

ACCESSORIES | HERMES

Al loro lancio, i cerotti firmati Hermès hanno suscitato molta curiosità (e anche molto dibattito) nei circuiti del fashion, e non solo. La maison parigina li ha presentati come “bende” (almeno nella comunicazione italiana), ma la loro forma e le loro dimensioni sono inequivocabili. Tuttavia essi sono stati privati della loro funzione originaria, configurandosi come minuscole aggiunte decorative per altri prodotti (un’impugnatura, una scarpa, una borsa) oppure come fermaglio adesivo (e riposizionabile). E comunque sono realizzati con scarti di pelle d’agnello, non certo in plastica.

I cerotti Hermès sono stati editati in un kit da tre pezzi, in altrettanti colori iconici: arancio-ocra (tipico del brand), rosso cadmio (molto ricorrente nelle loro collezioni di pelletteria) e grigio chiaro caldo, con tanto di logo stampato in argento. Il prezzo del tris? 140 euro.

Tanto inutili quanto seduttivi, sono rimasti per pochissimo tempo sull’e-commerce dell’azienda per poi sparire, alimentando la loro aura da oggetto di culto.

The branded wound – Upon their launch, the Hermès plasters sparked a great deal of curiosity (and even debate) in the fashion world, and beyond. The Parisian fashion house presented them as “bandages” (at least in its Italian advertising), but their shape and size are unmistakable. However, they have been stripped of their original function, appearing as tiny decorative additions to other products (a handle, a shoe, a bag) or as adhesive (and repositionable) fasteners. And in any case, they are made from scraps of lambskin, not plastic.

The Hermès plasters were released in a three-piece kit, each in iconic colors: orange-ochre (typical of the brand), cadmium red (a recurring theme in their leather goods collections), and warm light gray, complete with a silver-printed logo. The price of the trio? €140.

As useless as they are seductive, they remained on the company’s e-commerce site for a very short time before disappearing, fueling their cult-object aura.

ARCHITECTURE | TURNER WORKS

Lo studio di architettura Turner Works ha curato il progetto di riconversione funzionale e di ampliamento di un vecchio stabilimento tessile nel quartiere dei magazzini di Harringay a Londra, trasformandolo nel polo creativo Florentia Village. In linea con il carattere industriale del sito, i progettisti hanno aggiunto quattro strutture in acciaio in uno spazio precedentemente occupato da container, in modo da creare laboratori, studi e unità industriali flessibili, oltre a spazi comuni, cortili e passaggi pedonali.

L’identità del nuovo complesso si attesta su due livelli: da un lato, è stata rispettata la fisionomia industriale originaria; dall’altro, per raggiungere una forte personalità visiva e un senso di giocosità, le nuove aggiunte esterne degli edifici e la segnaletica sono ravvivati da scariche di rosa acceso, di arancione e di verde chiaro, utili anche a delineare dei percorsi e a distinguere funzionalmente i padiglioni.

From textiles to creativity – Architecture firm Turner Works oversaw the functional conversion and expansion of a former textile factory in London’s Harringay warehouse district, transforming it into the creative hub Florentia Village. Reflecting the site’s industrial character, the designers added four steel structures to a space previously occupied by shipping containers, creating workshops, studios, and flexible industrial units, as well as shared spaces, courtyards, and walkways.

The new complex’s identity is twofold: on the one hand, the original industrial character was respected; on the other, to achieve a strong visual personality and a sense of playfulness, the new exterior additions to the buildings and signage are enlivened by pops of bright pink, orange, and light green, which also serve to delineate pathways and functionally distinguish the pavilions.

ART | FIELD KALLOP

La ricerca di Field Kallop spazia dall’astronomia alla fisica, dalla matematica alla filosofia, dall’iconografia religiosa a molto altro, alla ricerca di un ordine presente ovunque e di modelli universali. L’artista coltiva una pratica profondamente contemplativa attraverso tavole mistiche. Sfumature delicate si irradiano da un bordo all’altro attraverso raggi, cerchi e linee perfettamente delimitati. Ogni opera inizia con una griglia misurata con precisione e prosegue con velature di pigmento nelle geometrie uniformi.

La sua più recente collezione di quadri, intitolata “Bodies of Light”, riflette il simbolismo trascendente dell’illuminazione. Alcune opere alludono a una sorta di luce terrena, che abbaglia quando “filtra attraverso le finestre o tra gli alberi”, dice l’artista, aggiungendo che esse prendono in considerazione la fotosintesi e il processo di trasformazione della luce in energia.

From the atom to the galaxy – Field Kallop’s research spans astronomy, physics, mathematics, philosophy, religious iconography, and much more, in search of an ubiquitous order and universal patterns. The artist cultivates a deeply contemplative practice through mystical panels. Delicate nuances radiate from edge to edge through perfectly defined rays, circles, and lines. Each work begins with a precisely measured grid and continues with glazes of pigment in uniform geometries.

His most recent collection of paintings, titled “Bodies of Light”, reflects the transcendent symbolism of illumination. Some works allude to a kind of earthly light, dazzling when “it filters through windows or through trees”, the artist says, adding that they consider photosynthesis and the process of transforming light into energy.

INTERIOR | AURORA ARQUITECTOS

Questo appartamento open space, con una superficie totale di 84 m², si trova al piano seminterrato di un edificio gaioleiro (cioè costruito alla fine dell’800, in epoca eclettica) a Lisbona. Il notevole dislivello tra la strada e il cortile posteriore permette alla luce naturale di penetrare dall’alto.

In pianta, l’immobile appare come un blocco modulato dalla struttura preesistente. Dal vivo, invece, è scandito da maestose arcate a sesto ribassato, che organizzano lo spazio secondo un effetto armonico ed elegante. Sul piano visivo, questa soluzione è rafforzata dall’uso del bianco totale, che crea un gioco di geometrie in chiaroscuro e una sequenza di quinte sceniche.

Il progetto d’arredo, completamente su misura e giocato sul bianco latte, occupa lo spazio con elementi leggeri e minimal che, attraverso la loro forma e materialità, suddividono lo spazio e creano un dialogo con gli archi esistenti.

Living in harmony – This open-plan apartment, with a total area of 84 m², is located on the basement level of a gaioleiro (a building constructed in the late 19th century, during the eclectic era) in Lisbon. The significant difference in height between the street and the rear courtyard allows natural light to penetrate from above.

In plan, the property appears as a block modulated by the pre-existing structure. In person, however, it is punctuated by majestic segmental arches, which organize the space with a harmonious and elegant effect. Visually, this solution is reinforced by the use of all-white, which creates a play of chiaroscuro geometries and a sequence of scenic backdrops.

The completely custom-made furniture project, featuring a milky white hue, fills the space with light and minimalist elements that, through their shape and materiality, divide the space and establish a dialogue with the existing arches.

INTERIOR | BAR FAR

Un nuovo bar è arrivato sulla scena romana, sfumando i confini tra architettura, spazio sociale e scultura. Il Bar Far reinterpreta una galleria tradizionale, che peraltro è la nuova sede di Villa Lontana, trasformandola in un luogo d’incontro visivamente affascinante. Questo interior-installazione, che piacerebbe a Stanley Kubrick o a David Lynch, è l’ultima creazione degli artisti Clementine Keith-Roach e Christopher Page.

Un grigio chiaro, a effetto cemento, avvolge l’intero spazio. Gli autori ibridano le sculture anatomiche in tavoli, panche, pareti e cornici. Piedi, mani e altri elementi sono posati come se fossero stati appena scavati dalla terra. Fondendosi con l’architettura, braccia e gambe conducono gli spettatori verso un portico posteriore, le cui campate sono completate da malinconici dipinti rosso-arancio.

Keit-Roach e Page affermano efficacemente che “l’effetto è un ambiente che è allo stesso tempo chiesa e tomba, profezia e rovina, paradiso e inferno”.

Between surrealism and metaphysics – A new bar has arrived on the Roman scene, blurring the boundaries between architecture, social space, and sculpture. Bar Far reinterprets a traditional gallery—the new home of Villa Lontana—transforming it into a visually captivating meeting place. This interior installation, which Stanley Kubrick and David Lynch would have loved, is the latest creation by artists Clementine Keith-Roach and Christopher Page.

A light gray, with concrete-effect, envelops the entire space. The artists hybridize anatomical sculptures into tables, benches, walls, and frames. Feet, hands, and other elements are posed as if freshly dug from the earth. Blending with the architecture, arms and legs lead viewers toward a rear portico, whose bays are completed with melancholic red-orange paintings.

Keit-Roach and Page effectively state that “the effect is an environment that is at once church and tomb, prophecy and ruin, heaven and hell.”

INTERIOR | FANTIN

A Venezia, nel rione di Cannaregio, un antico palazzo rinasce grazie a un sapiente intervento di riqualificazione. Casa Della Sensa, dimora dal passato domestico e artigiano, conserva la struttura tipica delle residenze della Serenissima, fatta di saloni passanti su cui si aprono i vari ambienti.

Un restauro minimale, rispettoso delle antiche atmosfere lagunari, ha messo in primo piano il colore e gli arredi. I proprietari hanno personalizzato i diversi ambienti attraverso un range di tinte molto diverse fra loro, però accomunate da tonalità sbiadite, rarefatte e leggermente nuvolate. Ogni spazio assume così una sua identità senza tradire il carattere generale dell’edificio, che appare discreto e legato a un’idea di domesticità autentica.

Le scelte cromatiche delle superfici dialogano con quelle degli arredi di Fantin, azienda che da oltre 50 anni lavora il metallo plasmandolo in collezioni dalle linee pulite, funzionali e poetiche. Qui l’azienda friulana attrezza gli spazi con arredi dall’immagine garbata, i cui colori creano una delicata sinfonia complessiva.

Venetian sensitivity – In Venice’s Cannaregio district, an ancient palazzo has been given a new lease of life thanks to a skillful renovation. Casa Della Sensa, a residence with a domestic and artisanal past, retains the typical structure of Venetian residences, consisting of flowing halls that open to the various rooms.

A minimal restoration, respectful of the ancient lagoon atmosphere, has placed the spotlight on color and furnishings. The owners have personalized the various rooms with a range of very different colors, yet sharing faded, rarefied, and slightly cloudy tones. Each space thus takes on its own identity without betraying the overall character of the building, which appears discreet and rooted in an idea of authentic domesticity.

The color choices of the surfaces interact with those of the furnishings by Fantin, a company that has been working with metal for over 50 years, shaping it into collections with clean, functional, and poetic lines. Here, the Friulian company furnishes the spaces with furnishings with a refined image, whose colors create a delicate overall symphony.
